Hima Reddy, who holds the Chartered Market Technician (CMT) designation, has been an active member of the CMT Association for over 15 years. She publishes the Skinny on the Mini newsletter and serves as the CMT Program Content Director at Wiley, the publishing partner of the CMT Association. Hima studied Finance at Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business, and upon graduating in 2001 she immersed herself in the markets. She simultaneously volunteered as the sponsorship coordinator for several CMT Association conferences and traded equity and commodity futures under the guidance of her late father.
In 2006, Hima joined Informa Global Markets, an independent financial research firm providing live, 24-hour market analysis. In 2011, she returned to trading independently and began work on her first book, The Trading Methodologies of W.D. Gann: A Guide to Building Your Technical Analysis Toolbox. After the book was published by FT Press in late 2012, Hima began sharing examples of the concepts in her book through a free blog focusing on the E-mini S&P 500 futures lead contract. She also became more involved in the CMT program, starting as a question writer and exam grader and then moving on to assemble the test prep materials available to CMT candidates.
In 2014, Hima turned her attention back towards research, joining the technical team at Piper Jaffray in Minneapolis, primarily covering U.S. equities. In 2016, she and her husband moved from Minnesota to upstate New York, and she answered the demand for her E-mini analysis to be shared once again, now as formal daily e-newsletter subscription. Hima also resumed work in the education of technical analysis, and she continues to publish her research at HimaReddy.com.
