Edward S. Walczak is a Senior Portfolio Manager at Catalyst Funds and is responsible for the day-to-day management of the Hedged Futures Strategy Fund. He has been portfolio manager of the fund as well its predecessor fund, Harbor Assets, since its inception in 2005 until its conversion to a 40-Act Mutual Fund in September 2013.

In September 2015, the Catalyst Hedged Commodity Strategy Fund opened using similar investment strategies as Mr. Walczak’s original fund but expanded to include commodities. Mr. Walczak is the Senior Portfolio Manager of this fund as well.

Prior to joining Catalyst Funds, Mr. Walczak was the Managing Director and for Harbor Financial, LLC, a registered Commodity Trading Advisor and Commodity Pool Operator. His previous professional experience also includes serving as Vice President of Operations for Acuity Specialty Products; Vice President of Supply Chain and Vice President of Engineering for Brach & Brock Confections.

Mr. Walczak has a Bachelors degree in Physics and Economics from Middlebury College and a Master of Business Administration from Harvard University’s Graduate School of Business. Additionally, Mr. Walczak served as a Captain of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
