Drew Wells is an investment professional with eight years of experience in the securities industry and holds a B.S. in Marketing from Coastal Carolina University. He started his career as a Financial Advisor with Merrill Lynch in Huntington, WV, where he co-managed over $80,000,000 in assets primarily for individual retail investors. His areas of focus at Merrill Lynch included Financial Planning, Portfolio Management and Analysis, and Client Education. During his time at the firm, he acquired both the Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor℠ and Certified Investment Management Analyst® certifications to add value in portfolio management and consulting.

In December 2017, Mr. Wells joined the Trust Department of City National Bank in Huntington, WV, as a Portfolio Manager, where he oversaw $240,000,000+ of client assets for individuals, families, trusts, and institutions. During his time with the Bank, Mr. Wells created and led the department’s formal equity selection and sector allocation process and produced the department’s first in-house monthly market research report for client distribution. In April of 2020, Mr. Wells obtained the Chartered Market Technician® certification to add value in investment research and portfolio management.

Mr. Wells joined Potomac Fund Management Inc. in November 2021 as a Research Analyst and focuses primarily on Technical and Quantitative Research for the firm. His primary duty with the firm includes creating research content through both written and video forms.
