CMT Association Announces Tyler Wood, CMT, as New Executive Director/CEO

July 10, 2024 – New York, NY – The CMT Association is pleased to announce the appointment of Tyler Wood, CMT, as its new Executive Director/CEO, effective June 1, 2024. Tyler brings over 13 years of dedicated service and expertise in technical analysis to this pivotal leadership role.

In his previous role as Managing Director, Tyler demonstrated a strong commitment to advancing the discipline of technical analysis and promoting professional growth among Association Members globally. His tenure was highlighted by strategic initiatives, including advocating for the opening of the first international office in Mumbai, India. Tyler led the transition from The Market Technicians Association to the CMT Association, enhancing brand alignment and recognition of the CMT designation—a prestigious credential for professional money managers, traders, and analysts worldwide.

Amidst these changes, Tyler has upheld the rich history and founding principles of the CMT Association. This commitment was evident in organizing the 50th Anniversary Symposium in New York City and overseeing the publication of “The First 50 Years,” documenting the history of Wall Street and the Association from the late 1960s to the present day.

“I am honored and excited to lead the CMT Association into its next chapter,” said Tyler Wood, CMT. “2024 marks the beginning of our next 50 years. I look forward to continuing our mission of promoting the highest standards in technical analysis education, certification, and industry leadership.”

Tyler graduated from Macalester College and received his MBA from the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University. His career is distinguished by a passion for engaging, coaching, and developing younger members of the Association and staff, as well as students engaged through the CMT Academic Partner Program. He contributes to the industry alongside other CMT charterholders on podcasts, webinars, and financial news media; and has contributed to the field of data visualization as co-founder of GoNoGo Charts.

As Executive Director/CEO, Tyler will oversee strategic direction and organizational management at the CMT Association. His responsibilities include member engagement, advocacy & external relations, continuous education, governance, and innovation to advance the association’s mission.
